Yesterday Jim and I took the boat, "Bel Canto", to the Bradley Creek Marina for safe keeping during the hurricane season. The four hour trip was beautiful but hot. We were accompanied by dolphins on part of the journey. That is becoming a theme in my travels over the water during this trip. Fascinating seeing old shipwrecks and giant Cranes brought from China for the port of Wilmington, and other attractions. On returning I gave Jim and Eileen a pasta making lesson. We ate the fruits of our labor with gusto: tagliatelle with white bolognese sauce. Lydia Bastianavich would have been proud!
Today we plan to spend a quiet day, pool aerobics now, pack the car, and have a nice birthday dinner at home with friends. I am off to my brother Mike's in Atlanta tomorrow.
Walter J. Conlan, SJ's travels and adventures during his sabbatical year July 2010 - July 2011.
Welcome!
This is a real adventure for me, having the chance to spend an entire year on sabbatical. I know that many of you would like to come along for the journey, so I decided to launch my own blog site. I am new at this, so I ask your patience. Hopefully together we can enjoy this year of new discovery and adventure, of reflection and contemplation, in the spirit of St. Ignatius, the pilgrim. Just Scroll down to view my blog.
Peace,
