After a wonderful visit with my friends in North Carolina I travelled Southwest to Atlanta to visit with my brother Mike. He loves to cook and to bar b que so we have not been starving. He also took me to his favorite Mexican restaurant - Los Hermanos (Los Hermanos Taqueria ). He bugs them every time he goes there to give him the secret of their wonderful salsa. Today he struck the right blend and it was even better than theirs. You'll have to ask Mike what the secret ingredient is.
Yesterday we went to the High Museum of Art to see the new show of Salvador Dali's later works. It was truly surreal - very crazy and very beautiful. ( Salvador Dali at the High Museum in Atlanta, GA,)
I've been lucky to be able to use friend's pools to keep up my water aerobic routine. Mike's friend Terry has a nice pool and we try to get in each day, since it is quite hot here.
Today we went to Mass at Corpus Christi Parish (Corpus Christi Parish). It has one of the most diverse communities I have ever worshiped with. Many immigrants were in their traditional dress - native Americans, Cambodians, Ethiopians, American Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc.
My next stop is Nashville, TN and the Grand Ole Opry.
Walter J. Conlan, SJ's travels and adventures during his sabbatical year July 2010 - July 2011.
Welcome!
This is a real adventure for me, having the chance to spend an entire year on sabbatical. I know that many of you would like to come along for the journey, so I decided to launch my own blog site. I am new at this, so I ask your patience. Hopefully together we can enjoy this year of new discovery and adventure, of reflection and contemplation, in the spirit of St. Ignatius, the pilgrim. Just Scroll down to view my blog.
Peace,
